Recently, the National Transportation Safety Board recommended that cell phone use in cars be made illegal. That included talking on the phone, texting and hands-free uses. The board believes that phones are too distracting in any capacity.
The recommendations were made following a deadly highway accident caused by a teenager who had sent or received 11 text messages in the 11 minutes befor the wreck.
The board made an exception for emergency situations, but even still, plenty of people felt the recommendations were too far-reaching. The Wall Street Journal reported that Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood would not lend support to the proposal. The NTSB could not actually make the proposal intoa law, but the recommendation still had the nation talking.
But the talk did not stop at cell phones. Drivers admit that distracted driving is not the only dangerous thing you can do in a car, and things like eating, putting on make-up, taming wild children, and reading are not exactly illegal, but also have a tendency to distract a driver.
This week, let us in on your worst driving habit…. what is it? C’mon. We won’t tell anyone.
