During a Tuesday night City of Little Rock board of directors meeting the subject of Occupy Little Rock was raised. At-large member Gene Fortson wondered how long the city would allow the protesters to camp out in downtown Little Rock, adding, “that he’s received many complaints from residents about the site, which is in the 600 block of East Capitol Avenue in a city-owned lot just east of the main post office, saying that the site’s tents and decorations have become an ‘eyesore’ to the public,” according to an Arkansas Democrat-Gazette story.

They believe the time to discuss the future of the Occupy Little Rock movement is at hand. “I don’t think anyone envisioned a permanent site down there,” Fortson said. “It has continued to the point where you have a lot of tents down there and I don’t know what they’re protesting anymore,” the newspaper reported.

The protesters were given a permit with an end date left blank. “Some people believe the permit was given [to us] with the expectation that we wouldn’t last the winter,” Lansky said. “And we have, in part, because of our good relationship with the city,” he told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

What do you think? Is it time for the protesters to go home? Or should they continue to stay?

What do you think should be the next step for Occupy Little Rock's protesters?

  1. My son is currently an ‘entrepreneur.’ It is exactly what you’re called if you lack a career.
In case you tune in to your fears, you may die never being aware of what a fantastic person you may have been.
