In case it slipped your mind, the Fourth of July is next Wednesday. Go ahead and start thinking about plans for the big day.
Need a suggestion? Well, how about Pops on the River, presented by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette? In its 29th year, the state’s largest Fourth of July celebration is being held in downtown Little Rock along the Arkansas River and has expanded for this year. The event is free to the public and will begin at noon outside the main gates of the Riverfest Amphitheatre in the River Market Pavilions with a kid’s pavilion and car pavilion.
Gates to the Riverfest Amphitheatre open at 5:30 p.m., with the five finalists of the “Oh Say! Can you Sing?” contest on stage at 6:30, and the Happy Tymes Jazz Band at 7. The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra will take the stage at 8:30, and fireworks will shoot off around 9:30.
Reserved amphitheater seating is available for $10 through the event website, www.arkansasonline.com/pops.
But Pops on the River is just a suggestion. Maybe you have something else in mind. In that case, how about sharing?
